| Howard William Steer
has lived all his life in Broken Hill and his art has
been winning prizes since the early eighties.
In his paintings, his subjects are the people and
animals of the outback, include the subject of early
miners' struggle to get reasonable working conditions,
and Howards humorous (and sometimes satiric) views of
our Australian icons, and the result is a host of
powerful stories-in-art.
Howards "gossamer winged" flying doctor, features in
many works, both helping to raise the profile of, as
well as financial support for, the Royal Flying Doctor
Service, that truly unique Australian icon. Howard
Steer and Paul Blahuta of Sydney are both established
artists in their own right, in collaboration they are the
Blood Brothers. Bonded by common interests, the two
artists combined together in 2001 to create a unique
style of artwork. |
