| "THE FLYING DOCTOR
ARTIST"
The painter, Howard William Steer, had an excellent
idea ~
The product of a painter's mind, where reason may be
hard to find.
Some might say his mind was ill, and that be came from
Broken Hill.
But Howard William Steer's idea, (although it may seem
rather queer)
Made a lot of sense to me. He was thinking laterally.
Perhaps a tiny bit bizarre, he's on the same wavelength
I are.
He came up with the proposition, that every Broken
Hill physician,
Should make his visits from the sky. Flying Doctors
ought to fly.
He painted them as having wings. Gossamery little
things.
Which worried me a bit. What if lightning should hit,
And burn the wings to brittle ashes, causing flying
doctor crashes?
There must be other ways that could make them
airborne, just as good.
A system that's a bit robuster. These suggestions might
pass muster ~
A rotor blade fused to the cranium, powered with Kakadu
uranium.
An astronautic kind of suit, with jet propulsion on each
boot.
Equipping every medi feller, with an anal based
propeller
Aerodynamically finned, assisted by internal wind.
That last one does appeal to me. It's kind,
environmentally,
It should be easy to adjust, the upwards and the
downwards thrust,
Expenses could be cut in half. The doctor wouldn't need
a staff,
A mobile 'phone strapped to the wrist, would give a
trendy modern twist,
And with this mobile kind of work, sell the office, and
the Merc.
So there you have it. Patient Care could be given
anywhere.
A different care, laced with emulsion, based on modern
day propulsion.
Alleviating stress and pain, without the benefit of
plane.
And all because one visionary, way out of the ordinary,
Saw the possibility, of a medical facility, Laterally
thinking, without fear. The painter. Howard William
Steer.
You think I'm drunk? A bit demented? I've had a bit.
I'm quite contented.
Just pour more whisky in the cup, Scotty, and then beam
me up!
